Day of Corpus Christi

This holiday is celebrated on the 60 th day after Easter, and is considered one of the most important Thursdays of the year. Drums and cherimoyas are sounded to proclaim the festivities. The High Altar of the church shines in glory. After a most passionate mass, the procession of Santisimo (the Holiest Body of Christ), leaves the church. With candles in hand its parishioners walk the main city streets.
