Portal de las Panaderas   (The Doorway of the Bakeries)

Located on the west of the Plaza Mayor, it owes its name to the location of bakeries and bakers during the colonial period. The merchants that arrived on market days spent the night in the corridors; therefore, they also called it the Doorway of the Merchants. Its vast corridor is a space that runs along shops. It was built with traditional systems and elements such as a Spanish terrace and rustic wooden columns. The floor and column bases are carved stone.
