Rafael Landivar Monument

Monument in honor of the great colonial poet born in Santiago on October 27, 1731 and dead in Bologna, Italy in 1793. He studied in San Francisco de Borja School in the Real and Pontifical University of San Carlos, and in 1755, he was ordered a Jesuit priest in Mexico. In 1767, King Charles III expels all the Jesuits from his domains, so that Landivar had to move to Bologna, where he writes his most important work: Rusticatio Mejicana, book of great literature beauty, dedicated to his hometown.
