Address: 4ª calle oriente # 12, La Antigua Guatemala History of the Restaurant and Bakery Opened ist doors in February 1,978. It began selling baked products that were new to most Guatemalans. These new baked goods included whole wheat bread, all grain bread, cinnamon raising bread, carrot cake and banana bread. In 1,987 the present building, heavily damaged by the 1,976 earthquake, was purchased and renovated. The building, constructed in 1,650, is one of Antigua's few remaining original structures. DOÑA LUISA XICOTENCATL has become a place where Guatemalan families gather to enjoy a good meal, a place for students to congregate and practice their spanish over coffe and cake, and a place where people from around the world come together to enjoy good food and the ambience of Antigua. |
